WNF meets RTM
Today, Wednesday Night Fury met Red Top Mountain. Fiase and Adonis came out to experience the great outdoors. While we were walking the Sweet Gum Trail, we stopped twice for mini-devotions.
The quiet sounds of the wind and woods made for perfect opportunities to be still, and know that He is God, as the Bible says. In fact, at one point in the trail we stopped by Lake Allatoona and I challenged everyone to sit still and completely silent with their eyes closed for five minutes straight. We took in the still atmosphere and reflected on how amazing our God is. At the end of the very-long five minutes, each of us shared how much we can become distracted with things of this world if we are not careful to slow down once in a while. I challenged the group to find another five minutes daily to practice solitude like that, remembering that God asks for our attention daily.
All in all, we had an amazing time learning and getting worn out from races up leaf-covered hills and across fallen down logs. The only improvement this day could of had would be if Adonis could have actually fit inside of this hollowed-out tree long enough to snap a picture! Thanks to Jordan for coming out and making us all laugh about Power-rangers and Sasquatch conversations!
