WHAT WE BELIEVE:
THE AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE We believe that the Bible is God’s revelation to everyone. It is the inspired Word of God. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments constitute the Holy Bible.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)
THE ONE TRUE GOD We believe in one living true God, eternal and of infinite knowledge, wisdom and power. He is a loving, faithful God, who is the creator and preserver of all things. The one true God has always existed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
(John 17:3, Genesis 1:1, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
THE SON OF GOD We believe in the divine nature of Jesus Christ, God’s only Son. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He was empowered by the Holy Spirit to minister. He lived a sinless life and through His death, burial and resurrection, provided forgiveness of sin. He defeated Satan and sin, having disarmed his rulership.
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Colossians 2:15)
THE FALL OF MAN We believe man was created good and upright in the image of God. However, because of Adam’s sin, man inherited a corrupt nature given to sinful behavior. Man is therefore separated from God and spiritually dead, without Christ. Every person has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
(Genesis 1:27, Romans 3:23)
SALVATION We believe that salvation is through Jesus Christ. Salvation is obtained by His grace and not by works. Salvation is for the whole person, which includes forgiveness of sin, deliverance from bondage, healing from sickness, and redemption from the curse of the law. Through Jesus, the blessing of Abraham comes on us. We receive Jesus by confessing with our mouth and believing in our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.
(Ephesians 2:8-10, Galatians 3:13-14, Romans 10:8-10)
SANCTIFICATION We believe that sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit in each believer. Sanctification is separation from that which is evil and dedication unto God. Sanctification is an instantaneous work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the new believer following salvation. Sanctification is also progressive as the believer becomes more like the Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 1:30, 2 Corinthians 3:18)
THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT We believe that every believer can experience the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Subsequent to salvation and sanctification, the believer is endued with power with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. This prayer language becomes a source of personal strength to be a witness for Jesus.
(Acts 2:4, Acts 1:8)
THE ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH We believe that water baptism by immersion is the privilege of every believer. Water baptism cannot save from sin, but is a public declaration of identification with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. We believe in the sacrament of Holy Communion (The Eucharist). By receiving the bread and cup, we remember what Jesus Christ did for us. We also observe footwashing from time to time as a way of serving one another as Jesus did when He washed His disciples’ feet. This is a powerful time of true servanthood and sacrifice.
(Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:3-4, John 13:1-17)
THE EVANGELISTIC MISSION OF THE CHURCH We believe the mission of the church is to continue the ministry of Jesus on the earth. He came to seek and to save those who are lost. He has given us the gospel in order to reach the world for Christ. World missions is a vital ministry of this church.
(Luke 19:10, Matthew 28:19-20)
THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS FOR MINISTRY We believe that spiritual gifts are given to every believer for the purpose of strengthening and extending the work of God. The leadership of the church is to equip the congregation for ministry. The unity of love is at the heart of all ministry.
(Romans 12:5-8, Ephesians 4:11-16, Ephesians 4:3)
HEALING We believe that Jesus provided physical healing for us when He died on the cross, as well as providing deliverance from guilt and sin. The devil is the author of disease and sickness. It is God’s will to heal the sick through the prayer of faith spoken in the name of Jesus. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24, James 5:15)
THE BLESSED HOPE We believe that believers will be raptured before the great tribulation to meet the Lord in the air. We will all be changed in a moment when the trumpet sounds.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST We believe that Christ will come back to the earth with the believers and reign on the earth for one-thousand years. Universal peace will be established on the earth.
(Zechariah 14:9, Revelation 20:1-6, Isaiah 11:6-9)
THE FINAL JUDGEMENT We believe there will be the final resurrection of both the saved and the lost for the final judgement. There will be eternal punishment for those who reject Christ.
(John 5:28-29, Matthew 25:41)
THE NEW HEAVEN AND EARTH We believe that the heaven and earth will be cleansed from every stain of sin. God will create a new heaven and a new earth.
(2 Peter 3:10, Isaiah 65:17, 2 Peter 3:13)
THE MOST IMPORTANT TRUTH IN THE BIBLE We believe that the most important command in scripture is to love God with all our hearts and others as ourselves. By love shall all men know that we are His disciples.
(Matthew 22:36-40, John 13:34-35)
